Volunteer in Africa

Volunteer in Africa with G-lish Foundation.

G-lish Foundation is an NGO I co-founded in Ghana in 2010 that now welcomes you to volunteer in Africa.

G-lish's mission is to create lasting social, economic and environmental change in impoverished rural communities in Ghana. The three “e”s underpin our approach: environment, economics, and equity—a sustainable approach for current and future generations.

Your volunteer project is designed to support this approach. G-lish volunteer projects in Ghana are tailored to suit each volunteer’s skills and experience and include projects which help develop sustainable sources of income, support environmental regeneration, and lay the foundation for lasting, holistic development in rural Africa.

To get a complete visual overview, download the volunteer in Africa brochure. In addition to the valuable contribution you make as a volunteer abroad, your volunteer experience will, in turn, provide you with a deep sense of personal achievement and help you gain valuable work experience.

Our main office and project is located in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region of Ghana—classic Savannah landscape, where poverty is widespread and the need for income generating activities is vital.

You can also download our application form to volunteer in Africa. It's quite detailed which, from experience, we know is necessary to help us understand you better and tailor volunteer projects to your skills and competencies. You do not need to make any payment with your volunteer application.

You can read more about specific volunteer projects in Ghana here. And more about G-lish's programs and how they fit with your international volunteer projects here.
